8th Annual Alzheimer’s Caregivers Conference featuring Teepa Snow

We are delighted to bring back our featured speaker for the day, Teepa Snow, who is an occupational therapist with over 30 years of practice experience in geriatrics and dementia care. Even if you have heard her before, you will be in for an exciting day of learning and encouragement. Teepa has an independent practice, works as a dementia care and education specialist, and has clinical appointments with Duke University’s School of Nursing and UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine, Program on Aging. She attended Duke University as an undergraduate and then received her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. In addition, she has directed an OTA program at Durham Tech and been a clinical specialist in geriatrics at a Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, among many other accomplishments. She is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and has received statewide, regional, and national recognition for her expertise in training, geriatrics, dementia care, and care delivery.

On Tuesday & Wednesday, February 20 & 21, 2018, West Tennessee Neuroscience & Spine, The Foundation, Senior Services of West Tennessee Healthcare, and the Alzheimer’s Community of West Tennessee will host the eighth annual Alzheimer’s Caregiver Conference at the Carl Grant Events Center at Union University in Jackson. We are excited to welcome back our guest speaker, Teepa Snow, an occupational therapist with over 30 years of practice experience in geriatrics and dementia care. She will provide practical, educational information on a variety of topics pertaining to Alzheimer’s, including the disease, care-giving, coping techniques, and valuable resources. Joining us this year for Wednesday’s conference is Melanie Bunn, RN, MS. Melanie is Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and Dementia Training Specialist. She is the owner of Bunn Consulting of Raleigh, NC, and has vast experience in training those who care for those with dementia. Melanie will provide very practical, hands on information for the day to day care of those suffering with dementia/alzheimer’s. The conference will be advertised in media to residents throughout West Tennessee and once again, we expect a large attendance from the area at this event. We would like to extend an invitation to your organization to be involved in a variety of ways.

Sponsorship Information

  1. Become a Partnering Sponsor. (Limited to 4) This includes signage on conference hall stage, Display/vendor table in prominent location (TBD), 4 conference admissions per day, included in all publicity, promotion, and printed materials for 2018 Alzheimer’s Community of West TN events, full page ad in the conference resource guide, and a reception with Teepa following Tuesday’s conference.
  2. Become a Program Sponsor. This includes signage in conference entry hall, 2 conference admissions, display/vendor table in Heritage Hall, included in all publicity/promotion/printed materials for 2017 Alzheimer’s Community of West TN events, full page ad in conference resource guide.
  3. Become a Participating Sponsor. This includes 2 conference admissions per day, display/vendor table in vendor area, included in signage of thanks displayed in conference foyer, 1⁄4 page ad in conference resource guide.
  4. Donate door prizes. You may bring door prizes to the event on Tuesday, February 20th. At the end of each day, we will recognize you and give you the opportunity to draw and present your door prizes from the podium. The names will be drawn from the list of registered attendees.
  5. Encourage your customers, patients, families, staff, and friends to attend the conference. Reservations are required. A registration form will be sent to you in a few weeks.

Any money received from sponsorships and vendors will help to offset the costs of the conference. We have intentionally priced the two day conference at the affordable price of $40, which includes a hot buffet lunch, snacks throughout the day, and door prizes. CEUs in nursing and social work will be provided.

To become a sponsor, please complete the Sponsor/Vendor Commitment Form (attached) by January 8th and payment must be received by Thursday, February 1. Booth space is limited and locations will be assigned based on the date the Commitment Form and payment are received and on availability of space.
